eps journal
A publication by Economists for Peace and Security
Submissions:
In addition to articles that we commission or solicit, we invite potential contributors of original, substantive articles pertaining to the journal's aims to contact the editors with a 1-2 page memo. Include the working title of your proposed article and a description of its content. Please do not submit full papers without prior consultation with the editors and note that final articles are 3,000-5,000 words in length. Articles may be essays or research pieces. The former generally summarize extant research, practice, or policy in a particular field or specialty in common-sense English, highlighting the main problems, findings, policy issues, and conclusions for a global audience that includes national and international policy and decisionmakers, NGO personnel, scholars and scientists, and members of the military, legal, peacekeeping, religious, business, advocacy, and other communities. Unless crucial for the argument, mathematical and statistical models often are best placed in a self-contained appendix. In regard to empirical work, pay attention to effect size, test-power, and practical significance, not merely to statistical significance. We discourage the use of copious notes. Please read the journal's Aims and Scope before contacting the editors with your proposal. EPSJ also web-publishes selected letters or comments (< 800 words) on articles and materials appearing in the journal and on this web site. Please send these to the journal's editors.
Peer review: All articles are subject to peer review, including commissioned or solicited pieces.
